School Dinners

Ordinarily a hot lunch is available to pupils each day at Northwood, supplied by our caterers Harrison Catering Services.  Under the current Covid-19 guidelines we are unable to offer the usual menu, but we are offering a cold lunch on Mondays to Thursdays with a hot food option on Fridays.  We are working to re-introduce the full hot menu as soon as we are able to.

Lunches are prepared on the premises using fresh, locally sourced, seasonal food.  Below is the current menu available to all children:

Filled roll (choice of egg or cheese), carrot & cucumber sticks, chocolate muffin and a fruit bag

Jumbo cheese and tomato pizza wedge, carrot and cucumber sticks, lemon shortbread and a fruit bag

Filled roll (choice of egg or cheese), carrot & cucumber sticks, berry cup cake and a fruit bag

Sausage roll of vegetarian sausage roll, carrot & cucumber sticks, chocolate shortbread and a fruit bag

Fish and Chips or pesto style pasta

Fruit Bag

School dinners are available free of charge to all children in Key Stage One (Class R, Year 1 & Year 2) as part of a Government initiative.

Meals for children in Key Stage Two (Years 3 - 6) cost £2.50 per day (£12.50 per week).  Dinner money should be paid each Monday for the week ahead.  Our preferred method for receiving your school meal payments is via ParentPay, a secure online payment service.  Please take a look at the ParentPay tab on our website for more information:

If you are unable to pay online we can currently still accept cash or cheques - please send money into school in a sealed envelope clearly marked with your child's name and class.  If you wish to pay by cheque please make it payable to Northwood Primary School.

Families who are in receipt of certain benefits are entitled to free school meals for their children, whether they are in Key Stage One or Key Stage Two.  The process of applying for free school meals is very simple.  Parents can apply online using the link below or visit the school office for assistance.  Eligible children will also qualify to receive free milk at school - please visit www.coolmilk.com for more information.

In addition children entitled to receive free school meals will qualify for Pupil Premium - an extra source of Government funding that the school uses to provide extra support to the children.  We do urge you to apply if you think you may be eligible as this additional funding really does make a difference!

For more information please ask at the school office.
