Admissions

Children are admitted to the Reception class in the school year in which they have their fifth birthday.

Children born from 1 September 2016 to 31 August 2017 will be eligible to start in the Reception class in September 2021.

The published admission number for Northwood School is 30; therefore the Governing Body will offer up to 30 pupils a place in our Reception class in the academic year 2021/22.

Applications for admission are welcomed from all parents, however, parents must note that evidence is needed for some admission criteria should the school receive more than 30 applications.  Children with an EHC plan are given priority before the criteria are applied.

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus restrictions we have not been able to hold our planned Open Day.  Please do call the school office on 020 8310 2722 or email:  admin@northwood.bexley.sch.uk if you have any questions about our school or the application process.

Application Procedures and Timetable:

Parents should complete the Common Application Form available online from their Home Authority.  A link to Bexley's 'eAdmissions' can be found at the bottom of this page.

If you are unable to apply online you may submit a paper application -  forms are only available from Bexley Council's Civic Offices in Bexleyheath.  If you are not a Bexley resident you should apply via your home authority's website.

The application period for admission to Reception class in September 2021 opened on 1st September 2020 and closed on 15th January 2021.  Late applications are allowed but will be dealt with once all of the 'on-time' applications have been processed.  Parents may express up to six preferences for primary schools on the CAF.  In addition to the CAF, parents should complete a Supplementary Information Form - available via the link at the bottom of this page or from the school office.

Supplementary Information forms must be completed and returned to the school office not later than 15th January 2021 along with a copy of your child's birth certificate and proof of your home address.  If parents do not complete and return the Supplementary Information form to the school by 15th January 2021, the application will be considered under oversubscription criterion 3 (if they have siblings in the school) or 4 (if they do not have siblings in the school).

The 'Admission to Primary Schools in Bexley 2021' booklet is available online with details of all of the borough's primary schools.  Paper copies of the booklet may be collected from Council offices and libraries.

Letters offering places for children to start at the school in September 2021 will be sent by Bexley Council in April 2021.  Late applications will be dealt with separately after offers have been made to the 'on time' applications.
