Hi Year 5 I hope you are all staying safe and well and not driving your parents too mad. Remember to keep your brains active by logging into Reading Eggs and Mathletics and keep fit by joining in with Joe Wicks. I hope those of you with fitbits are still keeping up with your steps and those of you who have given up certain things for Lent are still on track.

SPRING TERM JANUARY 2020
Welcome back everyone. I hope you had a great Christmas and are ready for another busy term ahead.
Some of the topics being covered this term are:
Landscapes inspired by John Constable
Forces & Magnets
Forgiveness incorporating Easter
North & South America.
In maths we will be working on statistics, measures, angles, perimeter and area as well as improving our knowledge and skills in reasoning and problem solving.
PE will continue on Thursday mornings so please make sure you have your PE kits in school.
AUTUMN TERM SEPTEMBER 2019
Welcome Year 5 to a new term. I hope you all had a GREAT summer and that you are all feeling refreshed and ready.
Some of the topics we will be covering are:
Earth and Space
Black Inventors (Black History Month)
We will also be building on and improving our skills in maths such as Number, Place Value, Multiplication and Division.
PE will be on Thursday so please make sure your PE kits are in school.
Our first science topic is Earth and Space.

"I have learnt that if someone asks me for my details, I should let an adult know." Faye.
" I now know that I should read all of the Terms and Conditions before downloading any games and if I am not sure I should ask my parents." Grace
"I now feel more confident using text boxes and moving around pictures and words". Wisdom.
"I have enjoyed learning how to use Microsoft Word. I can now insert text boxes and move them around the page." Ruka.
"I have enjoyed learning how to change a layout and use Wrap text to move pictures/text
in front of or behind pictures or text." Christine.
"We used our skills that we have been improving on in netball to play hand tennis. In netball we have to use chest passes (our hands need to be placed correctly on the ball) and in hand tennis we have to make sure our hands (that we use as rackets) are flat and our fingers are closed so the ball does not slip through. We need to make sure that our partner is ready to catch the ball." Daniel.
We had a class competition and Femi was the CHAMPION!
