Sum 1.6

Thursday Round-up Summer Week 1.6 (26th May '22)

A really busy week!

We spent Tuesday morning running around Danson Park in the Bexley Borough Orienteering Competition. Four Northwood pairs were in the top 10, with Keir and Aiden coming third. As a team, we were runners-up! Well done everyone.

Wednesday saw the parents join us for our Jubilee Stay and Learn. After a word game and a Jubilee comprehension, we created a 32-piece 'jigsaw picture' in a modern art style.

We did lots of Science experiments involving light and shadows and completed our 'Vincent Bal' inspired shadowology artwork.

We also managed to complete our Alma stories, refreshed some Spanish and found out our parts for our end-of-year production.  Time to learn all the lines and song lyrics.

We also helped an ex-Northwood Pupil, now known as 'Mr A', with his Primary School placement for his PGCE. After a law degree, and several jobs in London, he has decided that his future lies in teaching.

Thank you for spending time with us and showing us that Northwood pupils can be very successful! Here he is ringing the bell at the end of Stay and Learn - ringing the bell was "one of his highlights" of his time at Northwood!!

Our thoughts about this week:

"I really enjoyed our trip to Danson Park. The orienteering was fun and we brought back second place - only missing the trophy by 8 points."

"I enjoyed colouring the my part of the Jubilee painting and seeing it build together into one picture."

"I really enjoyed our shadow artwork - it allowed me to be really creative. See if you can spot my chips and ketchup picture !"

"I enjoyed our shadow work - I created a person sunbathing."

"Writing the Alma story was great fun. I really enjoyed it. I could show off my writing skills. <3 Thanks!"

"Recapping Spanish was fun - I refreshed my brain and learnt some new words and phrases."
