Public Health advice about the Coronavirus

The Coronavirus/COVID-19 situation is changing every day.  We want to make sure that you, as members of our school community, are aware of the latest official advice about what this situation means for schoolchildren, staff and their families.  The risk level in the UK remains at high, and it is very important that we do everything we can to prevent the spread of this illness.

Schools are closed except for children of Key Workers and some other vulnerable groups if they are unable to find other suitable provision.  Government advice is that parents should endeavour to find alternative provision for childcare wherever possible, but we are pleased to be able to support our families for whom that isn't possible.

If you believe your child meets the criteria, but you haven't been in contact with the school, please email us on admin@northwood.bexley.sch.uk and we will get back to you to discuss it further.

The current advice for everyone is:

  • You must stay at home if anyone in the household develops any symptoms: a new, continuous cough or a high temperature.
  • To avoid spreading infection to others, everyone should stay at home unless it is absolutely essential to go out.

The latest guidance can be found here:

This is a fast-evolving situation and we would urge all parents/carers and pupils to familiarise themselves with the guidance.

Please remember you should visit the NHS 111 website for advice if you have any symptoms:
