Carroty Wood Trip
The Year 6 Residential Trip to Carroty Wood
(some details below taken from the Carroty Wood website
https://rockuk.org/centres/carroty-wood/ )
The Carroty Wood residential centre is situated just outside Tonbridge, Kent in the heart of the Garden of England. The activity centre is enclosed in 58 acres of mature woodland with plenty of natural habitat and wildlife for groups to explore.
Carroty Wood Residential Trip
We take all Year 6 pupils who want to attend (usually 25-30 pupils) with 3 or 4 adults from school. The purpose of the trip is mainly to learn new skills and to develop self-esteem, confidence and independence. But it is also about having a great time with your friends before leaving Northwood and heading for Secondary School.
We leave school on a Wednesday morning and travel by coach to the Carroty Wood Centre. We stay for two nights sleeping in 'en-suite' bedrooms of 2 to 5 children and return by coach on Friday afternoon. The dates for this year's trip are 11th -13th June 2025. A kit list will be issued nearer the time but we advise pupils to pack old clothes as some activities can be very muddy. All food is included in the price (except for a packed lunch for the first journey).
The activities usually include :
Archery
Low Ropes Course
Swimming
Team Challenges
Campfire
High Ropes
Unfortunately, these types of opportunities do not come cheap but we endeavour to keep the cost to the parents as low as possible. This year's total price is £199. It is possible to pay in small instalments across the school year rather than paying in one lump sum. Details about paying a non-refundable deposit to secure a place on the trip will follow over the next few weeks.
